Digital Citizenship
It is becoming more and more critical that students be able to use the vast amount of technology available to them. Computer literacy will provide students with skills they need to succeed in the technological age.
Digital Literacy is the ability to use technology to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information. Along with working knowledge of computer software and hardware, students will benefit from an understanding of wide range of applications. With software applications becoming so mainstream, it is vital to be fluent in their use when entering the work force.
As required by the FCC, CIPA and E-Rate guidelines any student that uses the internet must receive instruction on internet safety in the areas of cyber bullying, appropriate online behavior and social networking. Most importantly, it is vital that students learn the basics of how to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibly in the digital world.
